Korea Electric Power Corporation is the largest electric utility provider in South Korea responsible for electricity generation transmission and distribution. It traces its origins to the Hansŏng Chŏn-gi Hoesa or Hanseong Jeon-gi Hoesa (Seoul Electric Company) founded in 1898. In 2009 the company was the lead on a winning tender submitted in Abu Dhabi for construction of the first Nuclear Power plant in the United Arab Emirates.
