Boralex is a Québec-based developer and operator of independent power projects. Its facilities are located in Canada the North-East of the United States and France. The firm was created in 1982 as a joint venture between the leaders of three companies: Laduboro Albany Oil and Exar. The name Boralex is derived from the names of these companies: LaduBOR ALbany Oil and EXar.
