EGG-energy is a small for-profit company operating in the energy sector in Tanzania. The company hopes to connect low-income households to electricity by offering a service that uses rechargeable portable batteries. Currently it is running a pilot research phase. Formerly known as EGG-tech the company was founded as EGG-energy by MIT and Harvard students in 2008 and has its roots in Cambridge Massachusetts.
