Winnipeg Hydro is a former provider of electrical power in the city of Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. It was established in 1906 and was purchased by Manitoba Hydro in 2002.
On September 3, 2003 Manitoba Hydro purchased Winnipeg Hydro, which
formerly provided electric power in the downtown area of Winnipeg.1
Manitoba Hydro and Winnipeg Hydro Power Smart program's, an addition
to the manufacturing facility was built in 1997-98 to satisfy
increased demand.2

Hydro. Electric power rates continue to be among the lowest in North
America.3
And Winnipeg Hydro served only one-fifth of Manitoba power customers,
while Toronto Hydro sells roughly one-fifth of Ontario’s power.4
An electrical flash Thursday morning at a Winnipeg Hydro substation on
Boyd Avenue has sent two Hydro workers to hospital.
Both suffered minor injuries.5
